GERALD RUSSELL AITKENHEAD

May 12, 2025, Selkirk Man

Youngest of 10 children in the family of Andrew Aitkenhead & Sarah Irene Wardrop (predeceased).

Survived by oldest brother John “Jack” (late Joan), middle sister Beverly Schindel (Edwin) and middle brother Kenny.

Brother of the late Norman (Marge), late Marjorie Fiebelkorn (late William), late Ronald “Archie” (late Iris), late Garry, late Gordon (Debbie) and late Patricia Thorsteinson (late Douglas).

Although our lives took different paths and you lost touch with us these past few years we treasure the many wonderful memories of our times together - a cherished son, baby brother, uncle & cousin

He no longer walks beside us but will live in our hearts forever

He was laid to rest in the Whitemouth Cemetery which holds special memories in the hearts of the Aitkenhead/Wardrop family as the land was part of the original Wardrop family homestead according to Jack and gate donated by the David Malcom Wardrop family.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Yearly summer visits to Whitemouth to grandma & grandpa’s - so many great stories, laughs & shared memories we will forever cherish - special times spent with my youngest uncle who was more like an older brother Another piece of our family history gone Note: s/b David Malcolm Wardrop Realized after the fact that I spelt Malcolm wrong – cataract issue causing fuzzy vision & I missed it – my apologies One of the first things dad asked me last summer when I emptied out his house was if I had his DMW bricks He has two of them that he said he probably made with his father & he had intended to put on top of his front door & forgot to do it when he built his last house They are now a family keepsake for him at my place *jls 💜 - Posted by: Judy Scott (Niece) on: May 14, 2026
